Basketball … Four letters in four seasons. Scored a total of 1259 points in his career, ranking him fifth on the Frostburg State scoring list a the time of his induction. An injury in his senior year permitted him to play in 9 games, or his career ranking would have been higher.
His 470 points in 1963-1964 ranks 5th on the college’s seasonal list; his360 points in 1962-63 ranks 16th. He led the team with 179 field goals in 1963-64, with 70 and 112 free throws made in 1962-63 and 1963-64, and with 99 and 127 free throws attempts in 1962-63and1963-64. His 23.5 points per game in 1963-64 ranks second in F.S.C. history. His 25.2 points per game in 1964-65 would be the school record had he played enough games.
His 44 points in one game during the 1963-64 season ranks third in Frostburg history to date. Was named the Most Valuable Player in the 1962-63 Bowie Invitational Tournament. The Bobcats record during Bill’s four years was 64-26, including the 17-4 team which lost in the 1962-63 NAIA District Semi-finals.
Also earned two letters in football (1962 and 1963).
