Frostburg State University Athletics

Sophomore Katelyn Coffey earns her second Frostburg State Athlete of the Week honor of the spring season after helping the Bobcats to a 5-2 record in seven games last week. 

Coffey posted a 4-1 record in helping FSU to the AMCC Tournament Championship round as the No. 5 seed. Three wins came over host and No. 1 seed Medaille (3-0), No. 2 seed Lake Erie (9-0) and No. 4 seed Pitt-Bradford (9-2).

On the week, Coffey pitched 34.2 innings allowing just seven earned runs with 15 strikeouts. Coffey also earned a 5-4 victory over Villa Julie last Wednesday.

Coffey is 16-8 overall on the season with a 125 strikeouts in 169.1 innings. She is 7-3 in the AMCC and is first in innings pitched (169.1), second in ERA (2.15), third in batters struckout (125), appearances (27) and games started (23).

Frostburg State is currently 21-22 overall and 9-9 in the AMCC and awaits a possible bid to the ECAC Tournament.
