Junior Jessica Rice kicked off the 2011-12 swimming season in fine fashion and has been named the FSU Female Athlete of the Week for her efforts.

She has collected four victories in two meets this season and was named the MVP of the Bobcats’ home opening meet on Homecoming Saturday.

She opened the year with a victory in the 100-meter breaststroke in a loss at Salisbury last Sunday. She rebounded with three victories this past Saturday against both Gallaudet and Davis & Elkins. She won the 800-meter freestyle, the 100-meter breaststroke and was a part of the winning 400-meter freestyle relay.
