Josh Volpe has earned the FSU Male Athlete of the Week award after a record-setting performance in the Bobcats 54-53 double overtime victory over Alfred.
The senior quarterback accounted for seven touchdowns and 470 yards of offense for FSU's third victory of the season. Through the air, Volpe completed 33-of-59 passes for 441 yards and a school record six touchdowns. He also ran for an 11-yard score with 8:53 left in the fourth quarter that gave the Bobcats their first lead of the game. He tossed three touchdowns in the second quarter that twice helped the Bobcats rally for a 20-20 halftime tie.
His 33 completions and 59 attempts are both good for third in a single game while he moved into fourth all-time in career completions (336) and needs just three more for for third place all-time.
