FROSTBURG, Md. - The 2010 Frostburg State football schedule has been released and the Bobcats will host five of their 10 games at Bobcat Stadium. This year's slate includes three NCAA Tournament and two ECAC Tournament participants and caps the season with the 12th Annual Regents' Cup game. Complete 2010 Schedule

FSU, which enters its 49th season and third under the direction of Head Coach Tom Rogish, will play five teams that posted a winning record in 2009 and two more that were an even 5-5. The Bobcats open the season with three-straight home games before enduring a rough five-game road trip. Frostburg State finishes off the 2010 season with back-to-back home games.

FSU hosts Geneva (8-3) in the season opener on Saturday, Sept. 4 at 7:30 pm. The contests marks the fourth night game in Bobcat Stadium history and the second-straight season with a game under the lights. The meeting will be the 20th between the two schools as Geneva holds a 10-8-1 all-time lead. Prior to last season's meeting, the two schools hadn't played one another since 1992.

Frostburg State begins its final season in the Atlantic Central Football Conference in week two when it hosts Wesley (Sept. 11) at noon. The Bobcats lead the all-time series 9-8, including a 5-4 edge at Bobcat Stadium, but Wesley (13-1) has won the last six meetings. The Wolverines are coming off their fifth-straight ACFC Title and fifth-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Week three features the first-ever meeting between Frostburg State and Christopher Newport on Saturday, Sept. 18. Despite finishing just 5-5 last season, the Captains are 62-32 with six NCAA Tournament appearances since starting their football program in 2001.

Frostburg State hits the road for the first time in 2010 in week four when it travels to Randolph-Macon (6-4) on Sept. 25 at 1:00 pm. The Bobcats and Yellow Jackets have met eight previous times with RMC leading the series 5-3 while all five wins have come in the last six meetings.

The Bobcats open the month of October with a tough road game at Alfred (Oct. 2) at 1:00 pm. The Saxons (8-2) finished in a tie for the Empire 8 Conference Title last fall and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. FSU and Alfred have met just once before, in 1993 with the Bobcats winning 33-31 in Alfred, N.Y.

After a open date on Oct. 9, the Bobcats return to the field when they travel to their second straight NCAA Tournament participant in Washington & Jefferson. The two teams will square off on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 2:00 pm for the sixth meeting as W&J leads the all-time series 5-0.

In week eight, Frostburg State travels to Waynesburg (Oct. 23 - 1:30 pm) for the 40th meeting between the two schools. The Yellow Jackets finished an even 5-5 in each of the last two seasons and leads the all-time series 26-12-1.

The Bobcats end their five-game road trip on Saturday, Oct. 30 with their first-ever meeting with St. John Fisher. The Cardinals finished 7-3 overall, finished in a tie for first place in the Empire 8 with Alfred and won the ECAC Div. III Northwest Bowl Game.

FSU returns to Bobcat Stadium for Homecoming on Saturday, Nov. 6 when it hosts Apprentice in an ACFC tilt at 1:00 pm. The Bobcats have defeated the Builders in each of the last two meetings and lead the all-time series 11-6-1.

In the regular season finale, Frostburg State will host in-state rival Salisbury in the 12th Annual Regents' Cup game on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 1:00 pm. The Sea Gulls finished last season 5-6 and runner-up in the ECAC Div. III Southwest Bowl Game. SU leads the all-time series 21-16 and has won the last six meetings.

Frostburg State finished the 2009 season with a 1-9 overall record and an 1-2 ACFC slate.
