Sophomore goalkeeper Tori Butts
FROSTBURG, Md. – Despite her first year as the starter, Frostburg State women's lacrosse sophomore goalkeeper Tori Butts (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) is ranked third in NCAA Division III in saves per game in the first statistical rankings of the 2010 spring season.

In two games for FSU (1-1) this season, Butts is averaging 14.0 saves per game and is 12th in total saves (28.0). She stopped 14 shots in each of the Bobcats' first two games, including a 17-13 season opening win over NCAA Division I Howard.

Senior Marissa Henderson (Pasadena, Md./Northeast) picked up where she left off at the end of the 2009 season after finishing in the top 20 in caused turnovers and groundballs. In this year's inaugural rankings, she is ranked 15th in the country in both caused turnovers per game (3.0) and groundballs per game (5.5).

Sophomore attack Joanna McIntire (Damascus, Md./Damascus) is currently 21st in goals per game (4.5) while freshman Taylor Cassatt (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) is 31st in draw controls (4.0).

As a unit, the Bobcats are 29th in scoring offense (14.0) and 17th in draw controls (15.5), but their real strength is on defense as they rank 20th in groundballs per game (23.5) and 28th in caused turnovers (11.0).

Frostburg State returns to the field later this afternoon when it hosts Allegheny at 7:00 pm.
