Emily Furr (Damascus, Md./Poolesville) and sophomore
Sean Wright
(Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen) powered the Frostburg State University men's and women's track and field teams at the Bison Open at Bucknell University, a primarily NCAA Division I and II meet, this weekend.
Furr captured a pair of second-place finishes and qualified for the ECAC Championships in both events. She was second overall in the triple jump (10.92 meter) and finished in a three-way tie for second in the high jump (1.60 meters).
Wright led the men's team with a victory in the 500-meter dash with an ECAC qualifying time of 1:07.24.
Junior
Anne Patron (Baltimore, Md./Dulany) captured sixth place overall in the 5,000-meter run and set the FSU school record at 18:14.28.
Sophomore
David Thomas (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) tied for fifth in the 60-meter dash (7.14) and finished in 10th in the long jump (6.41 meters).
FSU returns to action on Friday, February 5 at Marietta College.
