NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Frostburg State University women's track & field team was selected as a 2009 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic team, Thursday.
The Bobcats had a cumulative team grade point average of 3.199, joining a group of 100 Division III institutions that earned all-academic honors this year.
Sophomore
Anne Patron (Baltimore, Md./Dulany) led the women's team with a 3.953 GPA followed by classmate Jessica O'Neil (Mechanicsville, Md./Chopticon) with a 3.632 while former FSU hurdler
Sumer Rohrs (Frostburg, Md./Forest) was third on the team with a 3.601.
Both Patron and Rohrs were honored for their individual academic accomplishments this past year. Patron was selected to the USTFCCCA All-Academic team after the completion of the cross country season this past fall while Rohrs was selected as the 2009 USTFCCCA NCAA Division III Outdoor Track Scholar Athlete of the Year. Rohrs also earned 2009 CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District College Division honors earlier this summer.
Patron, O'Neil and Rohrs are part of a group of 10 FSU student-athletes on the women's track & field team to carry a cumulative GPA 3.00 of higher. They are former runners

Megan Patton (Barton, Md./Westmar), juniors
Christina Aumand (Chesapeake Beach, Md./Huntingtown),
Gwen Massey (Thorofare, N.J./West Deptford),
Kendal Moss (Hagerstown, Md./Williamsport) and
Kayla Peters (Dunkirk, Md./Northern) and sophomores
Emily Furr (Damascus, Md./Poolesville) and
Lindsey Holthaus (Joppa, Md./Joppatowne).
Shenandoah University led all institutions with a 3.676 team cumulative GPA, followed by Whitworth University with a 3.641 team GPA. Carleton College had the third-highest cumulative GPA with a 3.590.
