ASHLAND, Va. - Sophomore
Brian Anderson (Perry Hall, Md./Eastern Tech) poured in a career-high 31 points and Frostburg State had four starters in double figures as it defeated Lebanon Valley 87-81 in the consolation game of the 2008 R-MC Coaches Classic, Tuesday night.

With the win, the Bobcats ended a four-game losing streak and improved their record to 4-6 on the season. Meanwhile, LVC dropped its second contest in a row and evened its record to 5-5 on the season after losing to No. 13 ranked Ursinus on Monday in the opening round.
Anderson set a career-high for the second time this season after recording a 10-of-14 shooting performance from the field (71.4%). He also turned in five three-pointers and a perfect 6-of-6 effort from the foul line.

Juan Wansley (Odenton, Md./Arundel) was 8-of-10 from the floor (80.0%) and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc (75.0%) for 20 points while sophomore
Steven Ogg (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) added 19 followed by junior
Nick Sefcik (Shady Grove, Md./Damascus) with 12.
FSU registered 32-of-68 shooting (47.1%), 9-of-19 from three-point range (57.6%) and 14 free throws on the evening, all second-best efforts of the 2008-09 season. The Dutchmen were led in scoring by Kyle Enoch with 15 points followed by Grant Becker with 14.
Despite LVC shooting 54.4 percent (31-of-57) for the game, the Bobcats were 6-of-8 (75.0%) from three-point range in the second half including three three-pointers around the midway point of the period to turn the tides. The second half, which featured five ties and five lead changes, saw Frostburg State rebound from a six-point deficit at 14:50 to take an eight-point lead with 7:31 left in regulation.
The Dutchmen had a late run left in them as they cut the Bobcat lead to just one (78-77) with 2:42 to play but Anderson drained five-straight points to extend the FSU lead back to six (83-77) with less than a minute left. Anderson and Sefcik each made a pair of free throws down the stretch to hand FSU the victory.
Anderson started the game with a hot hand as he scored the contests first seven points to hand the Bobcats a 7-0 lead just under three minutes into action. LVC wouldn't stay down, however, as it emerged with the first of four nine-point first-half leads at 10:42. Anderson ended the first half with back-to-back three's to help FSU trail by just four at the break, 40-36.
Frostburg State returns to action on Wednesday, January 7 when it travels to AMCC opponent Franciscan at 8:00 pm.
